Most Earl Greys use a poor quality base tea and load on bergamot flavoring, which is like palming yourself off as landed gentry when all you own is a Barbour jacket. We use the finest Darjeeling from the foothills of the Himalayas and add the zesty, citrus bergamot and lime flavors of the Mediterranean to create something altogether more elegant. The blue cornflowers? Well, they just look so pretty.

Chili chai is a twist on our traditional chai tea - the Indian drink of choice for centuries. We’ve added chili flakes to Assam tea, cardamom pods, chunks of ginger, cinnamon and vanilla. This is for those of you who don’t order a korma and plain naan from your local curry house.

Mao Feng Green Tea

Call us soppy romantics, but we like this story. A young man and a beautiful young woman from a tea plantation were in love, but the local tyrant seized her as his concubine. She escaped, only to learn that the tyrant had killed her lover. Finding his body deep in the mountains she wept and wept until she became the rain, while her lover's body turned into a tea bush. Which is why, according to the legend, the area where Mao Feng tea grows is forever cloudy and humid the whole year round. All together now…ahhh! This tea is special, unlike any other green tea on the market. A green tea liked by people who don’t like green tea.

Traditional Moroccan green tea with mint is typically drunk sweet - very, very sweet. This is because they use Gunpowder Green, a tea so strong that sugar is needed to remove the astringency. We opted for a more delicate chunmee green tea known as Precious Eyebrows. Better to change the base tea than your teeth, we reckoned.

This tea has flourished from humble beginnings - Japanese peasants used to mix green tea with toasted rice to make it go further. Now, a celebrated tea in its own right – popcorn tea (or genmaicha tea to use its official name) is a truly unique blend with a wonderfully nutty undertone. Perfect for those who have always longed for savory sugar puffs!

 

Honeybush & Rooibos Tea

We've blended slightly sweet honeybush with the nutty tones of rooibos (Afrikaans for "red bush"), two native South African shrubs that complement each other perfectly. They grow only in the Cederberg mountain region of South Africa and are harvested and prepared in much the same way as regular tea. Naturally caffeine-free and nutrient-rich, you can drink it with milk as a caffeine-free replacement to your normal cuppa.

 

Silver Tips White Tea

Grown in China, this genuine white tea is made from the freshest tea buds of the season. They are plucked within two hours of sprouting, then left to lay in the sun. If your usual white tea appears green in your cup, then it’s probably a green tea; this, however, is the genuine white tea article. Possibly one of our most exclusive teas - refreshing, light and aromatic.

 

Tung Ting Oolong Tea

Stand tall, chest out, rise above those regular tea drinkers, for you have chosen a tea of champions. Oolong is a part-fermented tea which means it sits between green tea and black tea in strength and flavor. So much more than a half-way house, this tea should be savored. Taiwan is the home of great oolong teas, and the Tung Ting mountain is where this standout oolong is produced. An complex fruity taste over a smooth, mellow, green-tea-like base. Enjoy, then tell your mates – ‘I am an oolong drinker!’ and be proud.

We can't guarantee all temples contain caramel chunks but if you do get all 15 full of chunks, you've really hit the sweetness jackpot. Oh, and there are only 2 calories in a cup!
